"Man that hit the spot," smiled Lucy. "So good!"

"You can say that again girl!" Agreed Levy.

As Laxus dabbed his mouth with his napkin, he recollected the behavior of the younger girls in front of him. Basically, after the two breakfast specials, which consisted of a helping of hash browns, bacon, eggs, and buttered toast, the girls were all leaning back in their chairs, noticable rises in their midsections thanks to their stuffing of breakfast. Lucy's blue and white shirt rose a little, revealing a stuffed tummy. Levy's short orange dress made her a small bump around her abdomen as well. Both girls were relaxing back in their chairs patting their stomachs.

"We better be careful, we might lose our figures and turn out as bad as Droy!" Chuckled Lucy.

"Yeah, let's eat breakfast first thing we get up, that way we won't be as hungry like this again." Nodded the bluenette. She turned her head towards the taller blonde Thunder mage. "You've been really quiet Laxus. Got something on your mind?"

"Not really," remarked Laxus. "Just been thinking of where to find a place to set house and what not."

"Don't you live with Master?" Asked Lucy as she sipped her water. The blonde man shrugged.

"Not really. I can handle myself, although Gildarts was kind enough to let me crash at his place while he's away."

"Well that's good," said Levy. "Looking out for family is what Fairy Tail does best." Laxus nodded.

"Yeah..." Although the world passed by in seven years, for Laxus it was nearly six months. In October of X784 during the Fantasia Festival he was a power hungry maniac bent on reforming Fairy Tail by purging the weak so that only the strong can be it's members. After being defeated by Natsu and Gajeel he was exiled by Makarov and wandered around the various nations until he decided to stop for a trip to Tenroujima, right during a Guild war between his old guild and the strongest of the Balam Alliance, Grimoire Heart. He even helped his old guild defeat them and stood by them when Acnologia supposedly destroyed the island, until Mavis' spirit saved the guild with Fairy Sphere.

And before the Fantasia Festival he almost hurt Levy were it not for Gajeel taking the hit. And now, nearly half a year later for them they are just sitting down having coffee at a cafe.

"Laxus?" The mentioned blonde turned his head, his train of thought coming to an end at Lucy's voice. Now she was a newbie he once thought as merely a trophy girlfriend material.

He kicked himself mentally that he didn't come to his guild's aide during the Phantom Lord incident because he was arrogant enough to demand Lucy as his woman in exchange for his assistance.

"Yeah?"

"You're just really quiet for some reason, is something wrong?"

"I'm fine. Just...thinking on things," Laxus went for his wallet to pay the bill for the girl's breakfast.

"Eh? Laxus you don't need to do that, I mean, we can pay ourselves!" Protested Levy, touched by the tall blonde's offer.

"You girls have to worry about apartment rent and dorm payments. Gildarts lives in a paid off plaid. Besides I'm heading off on a job today so I can recover," said Laxus.

"Laxus how sweet," said Lucy with a smile. Laxus merely shrugged as he stood up. The girls stood up, but slowly, hands on their stuffed tummies.

"Phew, man I never felt so hungry in my life."

"Yeah same here."

The waiter waved his arm from behind the counter. "Thank you! Come again." Levy and Lucy gave their thanks as Laxus gave a grunt and a nod as he escorted the girls out. The two girls were whispering in each other's ears.

"Hey Lucy, we gotta pay back Laxus," whispered Levy.

"But how?" She replied back.

Laxus remained quiet but had a quirked eyebrow as the girls talked in front of him.

"Well...we could go with him on that job. Like give him a hand or something," commented the Script mage.

"Eh? You sure? We might get in the way, I mean he's the second strongest mage in the guild."

"Got any other suggestions?" And Lucy saw a sign across the street.

"What's this?" Lucy spoke, her gaze caught by a sign upon the wall. Raising a brow, Levy turned to stare at the page that had caught Lucy's eye. A poster upon the wall, advertising an eating competition. Both took a moment to stare and read, neither of them saying anything to one another. But in spite of themselves, both couldn't help but lick their lips. Even though they wouldn't call themselves gluttonous, something about the prospect of an eating contest enticed them.

"An eating contest... 8 o'clock tonight..." Lucy began, her fingers gently stroking her soft middle. This wasn't the kind of thing she would have normally considered - after all, she had a figure to watch! But something in her gut encouraged her to take part. No pun intended.

"The winner gets 1,000,000 Jewels too..." Levy added, biting her lower lip. The money sounded interesting, but really, the promise of food seemed to catch her attention more than whatever the reward was. Noticing at last how long both had been staring, the two looked to one another and paused, as if waiting for the other to speak first.

"Well... Just once couldn't hurt. And it would be nice to win that prize..." Lucy spoke.

"Yeah," Levy agreed. "I don't think pigging out once in a while is that bad".

With their decision made, the two made sure to memorize the details of the poster before proceeding to walk off together, ready to continue the day.

Laxus quirked his eyes as he saw the girls whisper to each other in front of him. "Pardon me for asking, but what are you two talking about?" He heard 'jewels' and 'that bad' but his curiosity was still in need of satiating. The girls turned towards the tall blonde and looked sheepish.

"Uh well...we were thinking of a way to pay you back is all, for the breakfast that is," said Lucy.

"Yeah. We have to make it up to you somehow Laxus," nodded Levy with a grin.

"You don't need to, it's fine," said the Thunder mage.

"Well later one tonight we are still gonna find a way to pay you back, it's what friends do," Lucy spit her tongue out in a cute way and Laxus shrugged and rolled his eyes.

"Whatever, do what you want. I'm off to get that job done," He then turned left to go over a bridge. He waved his hand at the two girls. "Later."

"See ya tonight!" Waved Levy.

"Have a good trip!" Added the Celestial Mage. Laxus simple waved as he walked away. The bluenette and the blonde turned towards each other.

"Wanna head back to the guild? Maybe the ruckus is over," commented Levy.

"Sure let's go," answered Lucy as the two stuffed friends walked back to the Guild and found it still in chaos.

What a surprise.

Watching chairs and tables get thrown across the room, with people smashing each other into walls and kicking them aside, Lucy and Levy couldn't really say they were surprised. Whether it was watching Natsu slam Gajeel through a table, seeing a mostly-naked Gray fend off Juvia whilst simultaneously beating up Jet and Droy or even just watching Master Makarov weeping about the council, none of it was particularly new to either of them. It had been wishful thinking expecting any of it to change by the time they got back.

"Knowing the guys, this will last until nightfall," Lucy sighed, exasperated as she folded her arms in front of herself. Levy nodded in agreement, watching the chaos unfolding before them. But then, the chaos seemed almost like clockwork. In that sense it was almost a kind of orderly chaos. Almost. Breaking from their thoughts however the girls suddenly saw a wooden table fly through the air towards them. Letting out shrill screams, the two girls quickly dove to the ground as the table passed over them, crashing out the door of the guild. Lying flat on their stomachs, they both sighed in relief.

"Maybe we should go back to the library and figure out what went on with that book. It would keep us away from all of this, at least..." Lucy suggested, biting her lower lip as she observed the in-fighting going on in the guild.

"Maybe we should," Levy agreed, nodding. "I really want to know what was going on with that book. It seemed really odd for a prank...". As both began to get up, pushing themselves back onto their feet, they both suddenly heard another voice speaking out behind them.

"What's this about a book?" the feminine voice asked. All of a sudden, both Lucy and Levy turned on their heels to see a familiar face.
I don't own Fairy Tail, it belongs to Hiro Mashima.
